How to Style Pin Curls

Pin curls have been very popular since the 1920's. Pin curls are a great if you want your curls to last longer and get beautiful curly hairstyles. Here are some tips to help you get those long lasting curls:

• Before you go to sleep wash your hair with a mild shampoo and apply conditioner if necessary. Wrap a towel around your head and leave it on for about 5 minutes so the hair will remain damp. Take a comb and smooth it through to make sure you are tangle free.
• Apply setting lotion if your hair is soft and fine so the curls will be able to last.
• Divide your hair in one inch sections. Take the piece of hair and wrap it tightly around your finger close to your scalp. Take a bobby pin and, slip the curl of the finger and pin it down. Remember the thicker the section the looser the curl and the tighter you wrap it around the finger the curlier it will be.
• If one bobby pin is not enough to hold down the section use another pin to form an �x� shape with the pins. That way your hair will be secured well.
• Do the same until all your hair is pined.
• Let them dry and then remove the pins one at a time and style each curl with your finger. Remember that it may take several hours for them to dry.
