Tips to Fight Static Hair
How to fight and prevent static hair, with simple yet useful tips for the perfect hairstyle.
Static hair can give us endless headaches - especially in winter time due to low temperature and dry air. Not only weather but also inappropriate brushes can lead to static hair. There are several ways to fight static hair and also prevent it. There are products that can control static hair, use shampoos and conditioners having frizz reducing effects. Proper moisturizing of your hair can prevent static condition. Use these frequently especially during winter. Avoid gels and waxes as these are petroleum jelly- based that tends to leave residues on your scalp. Ionic hair dryers are perfect to reduce the static effect. It is recommended not only for controlling electricity but also in general to protect your hair from heat. These dyers create a balance in our hair's electrical charge. After drying your hair, to finish the style use serums and not hairspray. Specialists claim that these will only dry out your hair even more - replace it with other products specially designed for static and frizzy hair. Always have some hand or body lotion in your bag, put some on your hand. Then apply it very smoothly to your hair. Be careful, don't exaggerate with the amount, it will only make your hair look greasy and weight it down. Use a humidifier at home or at the office. When the air is dry your hair becomes dry. These humidifiers can balance the levels of humidity, this way reducing the static effect. Finally it works best not only for your hair but also your skin if you switch from chemical fibers (polyester) to natural ones (silk and cotton).
You'll notice how the static effect is decreasing.
The use of good quality brushes is essential. Plastic bristles can generate static hair, use rather brushes with stiff and wide bristles. Wooden combs are also perfect for this purpose because these don't give our hair positive charge. You can even spray a bit of anti static spray on your brush and comb through your hair.
